The IRU3013 controller IC is designed for Intel Pentium III microprocessor applications described in the VRM 8.5 specification. The IC provides a single chip solution for Vcore, 1.2V AGTL+, 1.8V and the third uncommitted LDO controller. The controller can be used as a good detector for 1.2V power supply, and can also provide 1.5V AGP bus in applications requiring this voltage.
The IRU3013 adopts a patented topology, which, in combination with some external components, will provide an output current of more than 30A for the onboard Vcore synchronous converter, and automatically provide the output voltage specified in VRM 8.5 specification. The IRU3013 also features that, by using RDS (ON) of the high side power MOSFET as the lossless current sensing of the sensing resistor, when the output is outside the ± 10% window, the power good window comparator switches its open collector electrode output low. Other functions of the device are: undervoltage locking of 5V and 12V power supply, external programmable soft start function, and the ability to program oscillator frequency by connecting external capacitors.
