The MAX17515 is a fixed-frequency step-down PSU that operates in the 2.4V to 5.5V input power supply voltage range and supports output current up to 5A in a thermally-efficient system level package (SiP) package. The compact, 28-pin, 10mm x 6.5mm x 2.8mm SiP package is thermally enhanced and operates in the industrial temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
Typical Application Circuit
The device includes a switch-mode power controller, a dual nMOSFET power switch, a fully screened inductor, and a compensation component. The device supports 0.75V to 3.6V programmable output voltages. High integration significantly reduces design complexity and manufacturing risk, and provides a true "plug and play" power solution that reduces time to market.
Functional Diagram
The device operates at a fixed 1MHz and requires smaller input and output capacitance sizes. The internal fixed constant gain at the output of the error amplifier results in the positioning of the output voltage relative to the load current.
