The ADG508F and ADG509F are CMOS analog multiplexers. The ADG508F consists of eight single channels and the ADG509F consists of four differential channels. These multiplexers provide fault protection. A series of n-channel, p-channel and n-channel MOSFET structures are used to protect equipment and signal source in case of overvoltage or power loss. The multiplexer can withstand continuous overvoltage input from - 40v to+55v. In a power off fault condition, the multiplexer input (or output) is open and only a few nanoamps of leakage current will flow. This not only protects the multiplexer and the circuit driven by the multiplexer, but also protects the sensor or signal source driving the multiplexer.

The ADG508F switches one of the eight inputs to the common output, which is determined by the three bit binary address lines A0, A1, and A2. ADG509F switches one of the four differential inputs to the common differential output, which is determined by the 2-bit binary address lines A0 and A1. The EN input on each device is used to enable or disable the device. When off, all channels are closed.
