Avago Technologies' AEDC-55xx and AEDM 5810 motion feedback encoders. The high-resolution encoder module kit includes a built-in interpolator designed to quickly assemble and securely secure connectors in a variety of commercial and industrial motion control applications.
Each kit contains an AEDT-981x module, an ASIC with integrated photodetector array, LED current regulation, interpolator and output driver circuits, and a film code wheel that rotates between the transmitter and detector ASIC. The AEDC-55xx kit has a latching connector design, while the AEDM-5810 kit includes a patented snap-on protective cover-all of which make quick assembly possible. Depending on the model, the AEDC-55xx module can achieve high resolutions up to 2,500 or 5,000 counts (CPR) per revolution, while the AEDM-5810 module can provide resolutions up to 5,000 CPR. The output of the kit is two orthogonal square waves and has a third channel, which provides a true index pulse of 90 electrical degrees, which is generated once for each rotation of the encoder wheel.
