Bourns, a world-renowned leading manufacturer of electronic components, has launched a new series of high-power resistors. The Bourns CRG2512 series uses rugged metal strip resistor components to provide excellent pulse load capability and low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). These features help improve the reliability of the resistor, making it the best inrush current limiting solution for capacitive, hot-plug, and snubber circuits in a variety of current sensing, power supplies, stepper motor drives, and input amplifier applications.
Available in a 2512 (6432 metric) surface mount package size, Bourns' new resistors are rated at 1 watt or 2 watts with a TCR as low as ±50 ppm/°C and an operating temperature range up to 170°C. The Bourns® CRG2512 series offers very low inductance, low noise and excellent reliability over a wide range of resistance values from 110 to 680 milliohms due to its metal resistive component construction.
Bourns continues to expand its portfolio of surface mount metal strip resistors designed for current sensing applications. An easily measurable voltage produced by current flowing through a resistor that is proportional to the current flowing through the resistor. Current sense resistors are gaining popularity due to their high measurement accuracy and relatively low cost compared to other technologies. All series are RoHS compliant and halogen free
