Microchip Technologies has released the first PCIe switch on the market that meets the standards of the 4th generation vehicle. These Switchtec PFX, PSX and PAX switch solutions provide cutting edge computing interconnection capabilities for ADAS.
Krishna Mallampati, Vp of marketing and Applications for Microchip's Data Center Solutions business, said: "Our automotive standards-compliant Switchtec Gen 4 switch product portfolio provides the lowest latency and high bandwidth required to link CPU and accelerator building blocks used in ADAS applications. These switches provide high-speed interconnections and support distributed, real-time, security-critical data processing in the ADAS architecture. PCIe is becoming the computing interconnection solution of choice in the automotive industry for the same reasons that it has become ubiquitous in the data center market. It provides ultra-low latency and low power bandwidth scalability for cpus and specialized accelerator equipment.
