Cherry's MX key module is designed to meet the demanding reliability requirements of computers and data entry keyboards, game consoles and industrial control HMI systems. Key features include high reliability with gold crosspoint contacts, long-life mechanical switches, and fast and reliable actuation. Standard options include integrated LED lighting, decoupling diodes or bridges, and 4mm drive travel.
The MX switch series offers unipolar contacts with a rated voltage of 12VDC, durability with 50 million operations, and a range of actuation types, strokes, and pressures. The standard drive is linear with a click at the pressure point, a stroke of 3mm-0.5mm, and an initial force of 25cN min. The standard contact lead spacing is 19.05mm, which is fixed with a snap-in frame or a PCB solder pin. LED lighting is available in red, green or yellow.
The MX keyboard switch has an IP40 protection rating, an operating temperature of -40C to + 70C, and can operate at up to 95% non-condensing humidity. The insulation is made of UL 94 HB thermoplastic.
