Diodes Incorporated has further enhanced its PCIe® solution portfolio with a new ReDriver™ device for high data transfer rates. The PI2EQX16924 is a PCIe 4.0 ReDriver that operates from a 1.8V rail, while other competing solutions require a 3.3V rail, making it suitable for a wide variety of computing and datacom product applications.
The power consumption of the PI2EQX16924 is only 288mW and 27mW in active and low power modes, respectively, which is a very important feature to save battery power in portable product applications. Can handle data transfer rates up to 16Gbps. The unit is PCIe 4.0 compliant and is backward compatible with PCIe 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 generations. Supports the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It is available in a 32-pin X2-QFN package.
The device has four differential channels with independently programmable receiver equalization and flattening gains. This mitigates intersymbol interference and allows signal loss to be compensated for, enabling longer PCB trace lengths. Since the I2C interface is used for setting work, the firmware requirements are extremely low.
