Texas Instruments UA78M series fixed voltage integrated circuit regulators are designed for a wide range of applications. These applications include eliminating noise card adjustment and distribution problems associated with single point adjustment. Each of these regulators can provide an output current of up to 500 mA.
The internal current limiting and heat closing characteristics of these regulators essentially make them immune to overload. In addition to being used as a fixed voltage regulator, these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable output voltages and currents, as well as as power transfer elements in precision regulators
