Vishay Intertechnology offers a new qualified and customizable haptic feedback actuator, the AEC-Q200, and a touch switch offering 12V for LCD, touch screen and automotive applications. In noisy environments, Vishay has customized magnetic IHTP-1411AF-ABA with a compact two-piece construction, easy mounting holes and direct force application providing high pulse and vibration capabilities and clear tactile feedback.

Automotive CLASS IHTT-1411AF-ABA is an electromagnetic device that converts electrical energy into mechanical pulses or vibrations for touch interaction and can be controlled by changing the input voltage amplitude and duty cycle. When powered by a DC voltage pulse, the tactile coil assembly generates a magnetic field that attracts the mounted dynamic core. In the event of a power outage, it restores the core components to their original positions via springs or elastic materials assembled by the customer.

With a quick response time of 5ms, the device can be used to produce a variety of high-definition tactile effects at operating voltages up to 16V. Operating temperature range of +105C, actuators are ideal for harsh environments. The device will be used in car dashboards, center consoles and touch screens for human-machine interfaces. It can provide tactile feedback to electronic gearboxes, seats, steering wheels and other in-car controls.

The simple spool and core assembly of the IHTT-1411AF-ABA enables the designer to lay out a return spring configuration that can be integrated into a display installation, eliminating the need for additional housing. In addition, the low 12V operation of the unit eliminates the need for an ultra-high voltage power supply required for other technologies. As a result, the cost of the drive can be reduced by 40% compared to other competing technologies, including linear resonance, linear broadband, eccentric rotational mass and piezoelectric drives, while reducing component height and providing higher force density.

The company can customize the installation direction, type of termination, and performance of the device according to any design specification. The device can use 12V, 5ms pulse to drive 0.5kg load to 6g acceleration; Competing technologies can only drive 0.1kg to 0.2kg to this level. The inductance of the drive coil is 1.8MH, the typical DCR is 0.95-Ohm, and the dielectric resistance from the coil to the core is 150VDC. The actuator meets RoHS, halogen-free and Vishay green standards and provides standard lead terminals immersed in 100% tin solder.
