After years of research and development, LEMO has introduced NiCorAl, a new surface treatment technology that provides a "green" alternative to cadmium without affecting performance. It is a special formula of anthracite dark gray nickel-teflon paint, specially developed for M series ratchet connector series of aluminum alloy body, which is much smaller than MIL 38999 connector.
The company said that these finishes were developed and produced in LEMO's latest processing equipment and processes, which have been certified to EN14.001 environmental standards.
According to AECTP 300 / MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-202 comprehensive testing, the aluminum M series has passed the 500-hour salt spray test target, while the copper M series has reached more than 1,000 hours. Each requires RoSH2 and the upcoming REACh 2017 regulations.
