The design of the LM4140 series precision reference devices combines high accuracy, low drift, low noise and low power consumption in a small package. The LM4140 is the industry's first reference product with an output voltage option lower than the bandgap voltage, and the key to its advanced performance is the use of the EEPROM register and CMOS dac for temperature coefficient curvature correction and adjustment of the device's output voltage accuracy during final production testing.
Pin Configuration
The LM4140 is available in three grades (A, B, C) with an initial accuracy of 0.1% and a temperature coefficient of 3,6,10 ppm/°C. For lower temperature coefficients, contact Texas Instruments. The device's performance is specified in the temperature range 0°C to 70°C and is offered in a compact 8-pin package. For additional output voltage options ranging from 0.5V to 4.5V, contact Texas Instruments.

The main advantage of this approach is that dac can achieve much higher resolution than most methods used for other bandgap references. The low input and step-down, low supply current and output drive capabilities of the LM4140 make this product ideal for battery-powered and portable applications.
