Norson Electronics has introduced a plasma processing system called The MARCH MegaVIA. The overall size of the new system is 1652mm W x 1782mm D x 2326mm H, which increases the panel load by more than 54% compared to the MARCH MaxVIA-Plus. The footprint increased by only 2%. The system has 15 cell configurations and can be used in PCB manufacturing in up to 30 "x 52" panel sizes. The new platform provides PCB boards with high process reproducibility and plasma treatment uniformity.

"The new MegaVIA plasma system builds on the success of earlier platforms, increasing the processing capacity of large panels and minimizing the use of valuable production site space. Like other Via products, the system provides uniform plasma treatment results to meet stringent PCB manufacturing requirements."
The system provides 40kHz plasma treatment for all common gases -- CF4, oxygen, nitrogen, and argon -- with high process reproducibility and uniformity. The EPC controller with an intuitive touch screen HMI based on Windows 10 PC provides extensive data collection and control capabilities.
The uniformity of plasma treatment is very important for large cavity system. Using the system's power-power electrode configuration, balanced vacuum and gas flow, and temperature management technology, decontamination on both sides of the PCB and the etched back are more than 80% uniform.
