Littelfuse has announced an extension to its ITV9550 line of surface-mounted lithium battery protectors. These fuses protect the battery pack from overcurrent and overcharge (overvoltage) conditions. The new ITV9550 product is a 60 amp, three terminal fuse in size 9.5 x 5.0 mm. The innovative design incorporates a built-in fuse and heater element for fast response and reliability to disconnect the battery pack's charging or discharging circuits before overcharging or overheating conditions occur.

The ITV9550 battery protector is ideal for use in a variety of consumer electronics including: power tools, robotic equipment, electric bicycles and electric scooters, emergency radios and uninterruptable power supplies (UPS).
