The company said that Maxim's MAX32620 / MAX32621 microcontroller duo, based on a 32-bit RISC ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller with a floating point unit (FPU), is ideally suited for emerging medical and fitness applications. Both devices include 2MBytes of flash memory and 256kbit SRAM, and their architecture combines efficient signal processing functions with low cost and ease of use. The MAX32621 is a secure version of the MAX32620 and integrates a Trust Protection Unit (TPU) with encryption and advanced security features. The Maxim Integrated MAX3262x microcontrollers, now available from Mouser Electronics, feature four powerful and flexible ultra-low-power modes (LP0-LP3) for rechargeable devices. The microcontroller's built-in dynamic clock gating and firmware-controlled power gating minimize power consumption in any application. Multiple SPI, UART, and I2C serial interfaces, as well as a Maxim Integrated 1-Wire host and USB, allow interconnection with a variety of external sensors. These microcontrollers also have a four-input 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an optional reference. Mouser offers a Maxim MAX3262X microcontroller with 3.9mm x 3.9mm, 0.4mm pitch, and 81-ball WLP to minimize board space. This microcontroller is ideal for small, low-power products including sports watches, fitness monitors, wearable medical patches, portable medical devices, and sensor hubs.
