Microchip now offers the latest high-performance, real-time updatable dsPIC Digital Signal Controller (DSC) family. The new dsPIC33EP128GS808 device features up to 128KB of dual-partition flash memory with real-time update capabilities, advanced analog functions, and enhanced CIP for high-end digital power applications such as AC / DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, power inverters and advanced Lighting applications. These devices provide high resolution pulse width modulators optimized for digital power applications. In addition, these devices include advanced analog functions and peripherals. There are five independent high-speed 12-bit ADC modules, each with a 300ns conversion delay. These five ADC units share up to 22 input channels. There are also four analog comparators, each with its own dedicated 12-bit reference DAC. And two programmable gain amplifiers to reduce external component count. New features include a peripheral trigger generator, which is a user-programmable state machine. Compared to a firmware-driven implementation, it responds faster to events, while the processor can share other tasks. The dsPIC33EP128GS808 family has the DSP performance, advanced peripherals, and memory options that designers need.
