Microchip announced two new high-speed A / D converter families: the MCP37DX0-200 and MCP372X0-200 series. These series have 12- and 14-bit pipelined A / D converters with a maximum sample rate of 200 Megasamples per second (Msps). 12- and 14-bit devices have a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of over 67 dB and spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of over 96 dB. This enables high-precision measurements on fast input signals. These series consume very low power at 200 Msps, only 338 mW, including LVDS digital I / O for 12-bit devices and 348 mW for 14-bit devices. The lower power saving mode is 80 mW during standby and 33 mW during shutdown. The MCP37DX0-200 and MCP372X0-200 have a variety of digital processing functions that simplify the system design, cost and power consumption of designers. These series also include decimation filters to improve SNR as well as phase, offset, and gain adjustments. Data can be obtained via serial DDR LVDS or parallel CMOS interface and configured via SPI. The MCP37DX0-200 series includes an integrated digital downconverter, ideal for communication applications. The 12-bit device includes an integrated noise-shaping requantizer that enables users to reduce noise in a given target frequency band, thereby improving accuracy and performance. The target markets for these series are applications in the communications market, such as base stations, test equipment and IF receivers. Microchip's MCP37XX0-200 14-bit 200 Msps VTLA evaluation board (ADM00652) is priced at $ 450.00, and the MCP37XXX high speed ADC data acquisition card (ADM00506) is priced at MCP37DX0-200 and MCP372X0-200.
