Murata Power Solutions has introduced the NCS3 series of isolated 3W DC-DC converters. Through-hole converters are packaged in industry standards, pin compatible, and SIP format, making them an ideal replacement when updating older product designs.
The NCS3 series can adapt to a wide 4: 1 input voltage range of nominal 12VDC or 48VDC, including eight single-output regulated models, offering 3.3, 5, 12, or 15VDC output options. The wide input voltage is suitable for applications where the nominal input voltage may be different or where a wide voltage deviation is expected. The referenced output voltage regulation is better than 1% of the rated output, which means that no additional voltage regulation components are needed, saving both cost and valuable board space. Standard input / output isolation is 1,500VDC across the entire range.
The NCS3 can provide 3W of power over a wide operating temperature range of -40C to + 95C, depending on the model.
Safety features include continuous output short circuit protection and internationally recognized UL60950 safety standard certification.
Ann-Marie Bayliss, Product Marketing Manager, Murata Power Solutions, said: "With the introduction of NCS3, we will continue to provide products with 1, 3, 6, and 12W output based on our wide input DC DC converter series. "
Compared with the existing similar products, the power conversion efficiency of the NCS3 series is improved by 3%. In addition to improving the reliability of products and systems, it also helps to reduce overall system power consumption.
