The 33290 is a serial link bus interface device designed to provide a two-way half-duplex communication interface for automotive diagnostic applications. It connects the on-board microcontroller to the off-board system via a special ISO K wire. The 33290 is designed to meet the diagnostic system ISO9141 specification.
33290 Simplified application diagram
Although the 33290 is designed primarily for automotive applications, it is also suitable for other serial communication applications. Ambient temperature :-40ºC≤TA≤125ºC, 8.0 V≤VBB≤18v power supply. The economical SO-8 surface-mount plastic packaging makes the 33290 very cost effective.
Block diagram
The output of the device's K-bus driver fully protects the bus from short circuit and overtemperature conditions. The 33290 achieves robustness to extreme temperatures and voltages by building on the SMARTMOS process, combining CMOS logic, bipolar /MOS analog circuits, and DMOS power FETs.
