RECOM now offers two new cost-effective DC-DC devices with 100W and 300W outputs in a thin through-hole 1/8 brick format (58.4mm x 23mm) compatible with DOSA.
The RPA100E-W 100W section has a wide 4:1 input range of 16-72V for nominal 24V, 28V, and 48V power supplies and offers fully adjustable 5V and 12V trimmable outputs. Full power can reach 50℃ in natural convection environment and +85℃ in forced air. The isolation level is 1.5kVDC/1 minute, basic level.
The unit has an integrated heat sink that can be directly screwed to the radiator or cold wall. The 300W part of the RPA300E also offers a 36-75V input range for rated 48V power supply and a wide 16-35V output range that can be fine-tuned. This part of the isolation is 2.25kVDC/1 minute, basic level. In the case of no heat dissipation, the full load operating temperature of the component is 60℃ in forced air and 85℃ in load derating.
Both series have high power densities, with typical efficiencies of 94.8% (RPA300E) and 92% (RPA100E). Also supported under light load. 90% high efficiency to suit applications with low standby loss requirements. The scope includes comprehensive short-circuit protection, input under-voltage protection, output over-current protection, over-voltage protection and over-temperature protection. Included control functions are on/off control and remote sensing.
The products are UL/CAN/CSA 62368-1 certified for basic isolation safety and comply with THE EMC standard CISPR22 Class B with external filters.
Both devices come in DOSA compliant packages of 11mm for the 100W part and 12.7mm for the 300W part. The pin output is also standard and compatible with quarter tiles, providing possible space savings in some applications without sacrificing power rating.
