Onsemi, a smart power and sensing technology provider, announced that it will supply Kempower with onsemi EliteSiC SIC MosFEts and diodes for scalable electric vehicle (EV) chargers under a new strategic agreement. The ongoing collaboration between the two companies enables Kempower's suite of EV charging solutions to employ a variety of power semiconductor technologies, including onsemi's EliteSiC. These devices will be used in active AC-DC front ends and primary and secondary DC-DC converters.
By employing onsemi's EliteSiC MOSFET technology, Kempower's EV charging solutions will benefit from superior power, performance and reliability. With low on-resistance and minimal gate output capacitance, EliteSiC power devices exhibit low power losses at high operating frequencies, resulting in increased system efficiency and reduced terminal system size. These advantages translate into higher power density and higher overall reliability for Kempower's EV charging solutions.

Under the strategic agreement, Kempower will integrate the latest EliteSiC D3 diodes and M3S Mosfets into its EV charging solution. These chargers enable dynamic load balancing, ensuring maximum power distribution and the best charging experience for the driver. Kempower Charging solutions are cloud-connected and scalable, offering modularity that allows fleet and charging point operators to scale their systems according to demand.
