Powell Electronics now offers Hammond Manufacturing's new HYJ series IP69/IP69K stainless steel junction box enclosures for sanitary applications. The series is designed to withstand conventional high temperature and high pressure washing. They are also free of areas where contaminants may accumulate (such as slotted screw heads, corner latches or welded mounting brackets), and all sides are tilted to ensure that any water drains quickly.
These enclosures are ideal for applications where maintaining hygienic standards and avoiding contamination are important, such as food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Available in five sizes, from 202mm x 124mm x 102mm to 416mm x 338mm x 203mm(h x W x D), the rectangular design allows the unit surface to be mounted vertically or horizontally to suit most applications. Depending on size, the bonnet is secured to the body with four or six seamless hexagonal bolts with silicone gaskets to remove potential dirt collectors. The blue "sanitary" colored silicone gasket makes any contaminants more obvious and is installed on the edge of the door so there are no gaps where dust can be collected.
In order to exclude difficult-to-clean areas behind the enclosure, it is mounted on the intervals, which are offered in four different lengths to ensure the device is well anchored to the wall to help clean all surfaces.
