TDK Group introduces new PhaseCap Energy Plus capacitors with significantly enhanced performance. The new components cover two series of EPCOS PFC capacitors: the B25674C* series are gas-impregnated, with a voltage range of 230 V AC to 690 V AC and a rated compensation power range of 5 kvar to 33.1 kvar, depending on the Model dependent; the B25675C series is impregnated with biodegradable resin, rated from 230 V AC to 1000 V AC, and rated for compensation up to 60 kvar
The new series of components has many features, such as: 240,000 hours of long service life at -40/D temperature class; IP20 safety terminal blocks with anti-shock design; pre-installed ceramic base discharge resistors; 15,000 cycles, twice as many as previous models; can operate at temperatures up to 60 °C for short periods of time; allows hot spot temperatures up to 85 °C.
PhaseCap Energy Plus capacitors combine a durable winding design with corrugated cutting technology to withstand high inrush currents up to 500 times the rated current, self-healing, and CE and UL certification. A built-in three-phase overvoltage disconnect device disconnects the mains supply in the event of an overload. In addition, all capacitors use IP20 rated safety terminals designed to prevent electric shock, and pre-installed ceramic base discharge resistors.
The new series of components is powerful and suitable for a wide range of applications. Typical applications include automatic PFC systems, capacitor banks, independent and group power compensation, fixed and switching compensation systems, and dynamic PFC systems.
