The TDK InvenSense ICS-40800 Ultra-low noise oriented MEMS microphone features an ultra-high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 70dBA and a sensitivity tolerance of ±1dB, making it ideal for far-field voice control and voice applications. ICS-40800 consists of two sound ports, one at the bottom of the module and the other at the top of the module. This dual-port layout enables the microphone to exhibit variable sensitivity to sound depending on the Angle of arrival. The top port can be sealed to produce omni-directional sensitivity to sound.
Functional block diagram
ICS-40800 includes a MEMS microphone element, an impedance converter, and an output amplifier in a small 4 mm x 3mm x 1.20mm surface-mount package. Typical applications include tablets, teleconference systems, digital cameras, communications headsets, security and surveillance. Other features include analog output, 80Hz to 20kHz extended frequency response, -86 DBV power suppression (PSR), and 128dB sound pressure level (SPL) acoustic overload points.
