Texas Instruments ’ISO732x series of low-power dual-channel digital isolators provide galvanic isolation up to 3000 VRMS in one minute according to UL regulations, and each VDE provides galvanic isolation of 4242 VPK. The device has two isolated channels consisting of logic input and output buffers separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulated gate.
The two channels of ISO7320 are the same, while the two channels of ISO7321 are opposite. In the case of input power or signal loss, the default output of the device with the suffix "F" is "Low", and the default output of the device with the "F" suffix is "High". For more details, see Device Function Mode.
Used in conjunction with isolated power supplies, these devices prevent noise currents on the data bus or other circuits from entering local ground and disturbing or damaging sensitive circuits. ISO732x integrates noise filters for harsh industrial environments where short noise pulses may appear on the device input pins. The ISO732x has a TTL input threshold and operates on power levels from 3V to 5.5V.
The company said that through innovative chip design and layout technology, the electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of ISO732x have been significantly enhanced to achieve system-level ESD, EFT, surge and emissions compliance.
