The SN65HVD230, SN65HVD231 and SN65HVD232 Controller Area Network (CAN) transceivers of Texas Instruments conform to the specifications of ISO 11898-2 high-speed CAN physical layer standard (transceiver). These devices are designed for a data rate of up to 1 megabit per second (Mbps), and include many protection functions to provide robustness of devices and CAN networks. The SN65HVD23x transceiver is designed for use with Texas Instruments 3.3 V μ Ps, SCM, and demander and controller, or equivalent protocol controller equipment. According to ISO 11898 standard, these devices are used for applications using the physical layer of CAN serial communication.
These devices are specially designed to work in particularly harsh environments, with jumper protection, grounding and overvoltage loss protection, over temperature protection, and wide common mode operating range. CAN transceiver is the interface between CAN physical layer and single end host CAN protocol controller and differential CAN bus. These differential CAN buses are widely used in industrial, building automation and automotive applications. These devices work in the common mode range of - 2 V to 7 V on the bus and can withstand ± 25 V common mode transients.
