Power Integrations has released the highly integrated Innoswitch 3-TN off-line CV/CC flyback IC. Safety certified compact MinSOP-16A package includes 725V primary MOSFET, isolated feedback, synchronous rectification and secondary side control. IC supports simple power supplies designed for up to 21W electrical and industrial auxiliary applications.

Flyback controllers provide constant efficiency over the load range, with no-load power consumption below 5mW. The flexibility provided by FluxLink communication technology shows that positive and negative outputs are easy to implement. These ics can be used for 5V single-output power supplies, with two positive output rails, or with positive and negative rails, without the need for external feedback components. Safety grade technology also provides reliable synchronous rectification and output for precise constant voltage and current. The low forward pressure drop of SR MOSFET also provides excellent cross-adjustment performance. Comprehensive safety features include output overcurrent and overtemperature protection. The small MinSOP package and few external components required for a complete PSU design make the device ideal for compact implementations.
