The New Yorker Electronics now offers Vishay's new CLP series of ESD protection diode/EMI filters. The series includes three types of devices: single-wire ESD protection diodes, four-wire ESD protection diode arrays, and dual-channel EMI filters.
VBUS and VCUT single-wire ESD diodes are included in the ultra-compact 0.27mm x 0.3mm x 0.6mm CLP0603-2L package. They are bidirectional and symmetrical (BiSy) ESD protection devices that clamp positive and negative overvoltage transients to the ground.
They are connected between the signal or data line and ground and provide high isolation (low leakage current, low capacitance) within the specified operating range. Due to its short lead and small package size, the line inductance of the diode is very low, allowing rapid transients such as ESD strikes to be clamped with minimal overshoot or undershoot.
The four-wire VBUS54FD-SD1 four-wire diode is packaged in a 0.27mm x 0.7mm x 1.0mm CLP1007-5L case. It has the characteristics of a Z-diode, with high ESD immunity and very low capacitance. With VBUS54FD-SD1, four high-speed data lines can protect ESD and other transient voltage signals.
Connected to the data line (pins 1,3 and 4,5) and ground (pin 2), the negative transient current will be clamped below the ground, while the positive transient current will be clamped above the 5.5v operating range. The clamped behavior of VBUS54FD-SD1 is bidirectional, but asymmetric (BiAs), so it provides the best protection for applications running up to 5.5V.
The VEMI256A-SD2 2-channel esd protected EMI-Filter is developed in the ultra-compact CLP1007-5M package. It measures 0.27mm x 0.7mm x 1mm and weighs just 0.45mg. It provides a low leakage current, line resistance RS = 60Ohm and a typical cutoff frequency f3dB = 60mhz.
They are RoHS compliant and use lead-free terminations. The extremely low capacitance of the VBUS03B1-SD0 can also be used for high-speed data ports such as HDMI, USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt. And the whole series of operating voltage range is ±3.3V ~ ±15V, the leakage current is less than 0.05µa, and the capacitance is less than 0.4pF. The operating temperature range is -55C to +150C, suitable for smartphones, digital cameras, gaming systems, wearables and automotive devices.
