Sensor Technology has expanded its new line of torque sensors with this model offering a sensing head and electronics in a separate enclosure. There are two advantages: one is that the sensing head can be adapted to a very narrow space, and the other advantage is that the electronics can be placed in one place where they are protected from dust, dust, moisture, electromagnetic force, physical damage, etc.
The functional principle of the new torqsense sgr530 / 540 series has a full Quad strain measurement bridge, which is the same as all other sgr510 / 520 units. Fixed on the drive shaft with four separate strain gauges; When the shaft rotates under load, each sensor measures the deflection of the shaft in different directions. The electronics collects readings from all four instruments and calculates torque values.
"Due to our experience in RWT, we can greatly reduce the development time of the new SGR model." "Therefore, we have been able to respond to specific queries from individual users and propose the launch of the model," said Mark Ingham of sensor technology
The new series meets the needs of new users, especially the accurate recording of transient torque peaks. In the past, sensors didn't pick up the bandwidth for these spikes, so they were ignored. However, as Mark explains. Automation, advances in continuous operations, and the growing need for accurate tracking and tracking data have led to the need for more detailed measurement and analysis.
"For example, a single spike could indicate the wrong amount of ingredient added to a compound or a very large workpiece, both of which could affect product quality. A series of spikes could indicate that something is starting to go wrong inside the machine, so their testing could alert plant engineers."
Full range of sensors with +/-0.1% accuracy and +/-0.01% resolution for all cells. Other features include an adjustable moving average filter, power supply range from 12VDC to 32VDC, user-configurable analog output voltage, and RS232, USB, CANbus, and Ethernet communication options.
Mark said. "Like RWT sensors, the new sgrs can be digitally integrated with torqview software and LabVIEW virtual instruments."
