VOL3120 occupies a small space, the height is only 2.5mm, the minimum clearance and external creepage distance is 8mm. In addition to its small size, the device also has high isolation voltage levels of VIORM = 1050 V and VIOTM = 8000 V, making it ideal for applications that operate in environments with higher operating voltages and / or higher pollution levels.
The height of VOL3120 is 30% lower than the driver in the standard DIP package, which saves space and supports flat-size applications such as induction stoves and compact inverters used in home solar and motor drives. In addition to providing excellent isolation performance, VOL3120 also has the latest electrical performance. The device's undervoltage lockout protects the IGBT / MOSFET from faults, and its common-mode transient immunity exceeds 48 kV / µs, eliminating noise problems in low-voltage areas on the PCB.
The VOL3120's maximum 2.5mA low current consumption makes it a practical choice for power supply design applications that require high efficiency operation. The typical delay of this device is less than 250ns, and the typical rise and fall time is 100ns, so it is very suitable for applications that require fast switching IGBT or MOSFET.
The driver released today can operate in a wide supply voltage range of 15V to 32V and an industrial temperature range of -40C to + 100C. VOL3120 has unlimited floor life and its moisture sensitivity (MSL) is 1 (in accordance with J-STD-020). The company stated that the device is RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
