Vishay Intertechnology announced the launch of 15 new FRED Pt 5th generation 600 V and 1200 V Hyperfast and Ultrafast recovery rectifiers using SOT-227 small package. The conduction and switching losses of Vishay Semiconductors rectifier have reached an advanced level among similar devices, improving the efficiency of high-frequency inverter and soft switching or resonant circuit
The devices announced today can be used in conjunction with MOSFET or high-speed IGBT for PFC, electric (EV)/hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) battery charging station output rectifier stage, solar inverter booster stage and UPS. In these applications, the on-off loss of the rectifier is lower than that of the previous generation device, and the reverse recovery loss is lower. In addition, the semiconductor components in the SOT-227 package are insulated from the copper substrate, facilitating the construction of general-purpose heat sinks and small assemblies.
The 30A / 600 V device uses A single-phase bridge configuration, and the 60 A-300 A / 600 V-1200 V device uses a dual-diode configuration. Rectifiers are available in X type Hyperfast and H Type Ultrafast speed types. H-type rectifier has the advantage of low on-off loss, and X-type rectifier has the advantage of fast recovery. Device operating temperature up to +175 °C.
